Taking a BEACH Break…

Hello to everyone!  I am so excited that everyone is enjoying the blog and even commenting!  It makes all of us feel good to receive comments and to know that your prayers are with us!  We try to let everyone read their personal comments when we can but we are quite busy in the Mississippi sun!

I am at the library again after painting a house all morning and dropping off water to the flooring crew this afternoon.  I know all of you at home are anxious to see what we are doing and to see all of the smiling faces that keep you entertained!

The first pictures are from Monday afternoon at the beach.   Dottie had the great idea to write in the sand…Cute, huh!  Thanks Marsha for taking this photo while I was enjoying the water!

We thought this photo was beautiful!  It was a gorgeous day!  It reminded the ladies of the people crossing the Red Sea, especially when it is followed by the one in the water!

The swimming fun was over and you will notice to the left Shane face down in the water.  He tried to sneak up on Taylor and hurt his knee.  That is what he gets for messing with a girl!  His injury was not bad because he has been doing tile for two days since!

This is our fearless leader, Walker, Texas Ranger!  Ha Ha!  Tex for short!  LOL  Really, this is Brother Stan in his beach attire!

This is from Tuesday evening at the beach.  We waited until after supper to go to the beach because we had worked really hard and needed to rest a little while.  We did our daily devotion on the beach and wasn’t it beautiful???  We talked about service to others and our expectations for this trip.  Ken did a good job leading the devotion but it was really hard to sit on the sand and not play in it!

These are some group shots taken before devotion.  Noelle, Mallory, Taylor, Melaina, Brianna, McKenna, Brooke, and Amanda.

Another group consisting of Alayna, Sarah, Chelsie, Nickey, Amber, Molly, Jessica, and Anne’ Marie.

I guess the devotion was too long because immediately following it, Ken got buried in the sand!  Doing the job are Kayla, Gus, Noelle, Kody and Nickey!

This is our entire group of Youth members.  Too many to name, but we love them all!

This is our group of chaperones.  They will probably kill me for putting this one here, but I thought you would like to see it!

Okay, next coming, maybe tonight will be Day 2 and hopefully 3 work pictures!  Check back later!  I am loving all of this hits and comments on our blog!  We love and miss you all!

  1. great pictures!! makes me wish i was there with everybody. glad ya’ll are getting some down time for all the work! I remember that short trip i went on to east texas with robert and cindy. Bro. Stan worked us to death nearly! I have never been that tired before! BUT, it was also a great feeling–helping others. Keep up the good work, enjoy each other’s company, be thankful for your friendships and families. keep me posted. Take good care of the Brookster for me!

  3. Yes only Bubba Harper’s child would wear a bathing suit and rubber boots to the beach. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. I was hoping to see the jellyfish and turtle with nail polish that Amber told me about. Maybe they will be in the next group of pictures. Mrs. Dottie, no birds have landed on anyone have they. LOL

    Missing all of you.
    Tambatha

  4. Looks like ya’ll had a great time at the beach. Great to see I’m not the only person with white legs. lol Showed to pictures to BJ and Anissa’s kids so they could see moma and daddy. They really ejoyed looking at them. I told them that even though they miss moma and daddy, they have to remember that they are off doing work for the lord and they will be back in a few days. They were ok with that.
    Keep up the good work,
    Angie

  8. Well here are the comments I was looking for….got lost for a second but now I’m here. Enjoying the photos and updates….hope everyone has a great time. Hello McKenna!!!

  9. Looks like you are having fun and I have heard about the hard work being done. The beach looked like a great place for a devotion. I am loving school. I have the best teacher any one could ask for. She just makes me want to run out and teach somewhere. She is very inspiring. She was raised in a foster home because her parents were alcoholics. She grew up and became a teacher, principal, state dept. employee and held other positions. She is so smart. She is also a fine, Christian woman. Several class members have shared they are Christians during some part of the class. Boldly speaking. I better go to bed. Have to hit the floor in the morning. Love you all! Proud of the youth working so hard. You are a good bunch.
    Goodnight, Tucker.
    Love,
    Mama

  10. I love these beach pictures. I can tell you are all enjoying your time together. Hey Amanda, are you sunburned AGAIN???
    Love,
    Mom

  11. With such a beautiful backdrop, I am sure no one cared how long Ken preached. It looks absolutely serene and sedate. I was unsure of what the glow sticks were in some of the pics and then realize it was Dottie’s and Bro. Stan’s legs. Tanning does come in a bottle these days. (I use it!) I can’t wait to hear all of the details and hopefully Sarah you won’t be too tired to share. I sent James David a couple of postcards while he is at Granny’s and to David too (who is holding the fort down while we are spread across the state and out of state). Sarah, if you hear that Pappaw died–it’s not true. The rumor has been going around Saline, because the helicopter landed at their house on Sunday. So if anyone else heard that down there, it’s not TRUE!!!!

    Love to the entire crew,
    Sherri

  12. Hey SherryC. tanning comes from a bed too!! They should have used some minutes at Granny’s before the trip.

Glad all of you are ok down there. Tell Claire that Noah said it was to quiet at home but it was nice to get the bathroom first in the mornings.

    See ya’ll later. probably Sunday.

Love to all of you, Susan
